Weather Policy

Zara’s Doggy Day Care aims to avoid any uncertainty and confusion in the event of a possible day care closure.  We believe the best way to do this is to communicate as much as possible with our clients.

There are rare occasions when the day care centre has to close either a full or half day. These are usually occasions when adverse weather means it may be unsafe and poses health and safety issues to our staff, dogs and clients. This may be extremes of cold or hot weather.

In an event of snow, it may become too hazardous to collect or drop off your dog. Vans are poorly balanced require at least double the stopping distance compared to a car.

In an event where we deem it too hazardous to drive a van, the centre will open from 07:45 allowing you to drop off your dog/s, and again, the client collection time will be by 5 pm allowing clients ample time to collect your dog. This will only apply when conditions are hazardous to transport your dogs safely.

In an event of temperature extremes/Heat Waves the vans and/ or the centre will not be operate in the best interest and welfare of your dog/s.

In extreme heat, the centre may remain open but only to provide care for those unable to at home. for example, a flat with no outdoor space. You will be required to provide extra cooling items such as cool matts, cool vests / bibs.

Once a dog suffers from Heat Exhaustion and/or Heat Stroke it is very difficult to recover the dogs health.

We endeavour to give you at least 12 hours’ notice, via email, phone or text. Please remember that snow and ice can be very isolated, especially in Surrey.

As the weather is an act of God and out of our control there will be no refunds issued.
